Hey, thanks Aurélien! Your latest work is stunning, as usual! While all your work is awesome, of your latest pieces I like "Le Diapason…" very much. Well done!

I really do think that's awesome!!! I have to say... though Max wouldn't wear those shoes, I do think she might be sneaky and do the blue toe polish when no one is looking. LOL

It's a shame those towers got cut out in the background b/c I think that really screams 'Shadow City' to me. But it's perfect for the book!

You do such a wonderful job. And you really captured the city and Max, with the exception of the shoes. She wouldn't be caught dead in those :D I love the kind of industrial/watercolory look to the background.

Hello Diana, thanks very much for your kind comment! I'm thrilled to hear you like how the cover turned out.
To varying degrees, my work is usually a combination of photographic elements (in this case, the woman, the alley, and the buildings in the background) combined with textures in Photoshop. The textures I use can be photos of old wood or metal, stained paper, or hand-painted textures. I'll often also use a tablet with Photoshop to paint in certain elements or emphasize others. So, to answer your question, it's a little bit of all of them. The end result is always a digital file, and the process is digital, but it's a combination of photography and natural media.
While I've only had the pleasure to illustrate two of your covers, I do look forward to them because what's not fun about illustrating a woman in leather holding guns and swords? ;)

I do love the covers you've done for me! I'm curious though, I'd love to hear a bit more about how you create the piece. Is it digital? Mixed media? other?
